The Great Yarn Monster

So when my great-grandmother passed away (related by marriage not by blood, it’s against my principles to claim any greater relationship between myself and that racist bitch) I was given all of her yarn because no one else in the family except she and iI knitted or crocheted.

A lot of it is nice, and it was awesome not having to go out and purchase that much on my own, though some of the colors remind me of seventies craft house decor … lots of clay colored browns and rusty oranges, and gaudy yellows.

I tell myself it will all look nice for thanksgiving.

But I digress. I inherited a great majority of my yarn and I put most of it into a pretty chest my mother gave me, there it stayed, all the too bright colors waiting for holidays when they would be appropriate. I knitted my whites, soft greys, and dusty pinks, and only opened it for the rare cream or red.

but then… came the monster.

I don’t know how he was born, but months ago I opened the lid and was rummaging about the bottom of the chest looking for a cotton, when lo and behold I found him….

AAAAHHHH! THE GREAT YARN MONSTER!

I think you’ll all understand why I left him this long, and he’s half defeated in this pictures, the one below is everything i pulled from him.

everything in the tub used to be in the knot, it doesn’t look like it, but i have made progress.
